Cassandra’s Review of the Scubapro Exodry Drysuit

Dry suit diving came quickly as a requirement for me in Southern Oregon. I started with a trilam suit from Kathy at Rogue Aquatics. Much appreciated.

When I finally made the decision I needed my own suit I was excited to try the Scubapro Exodry.

Let’s cover what Scubapro says and my thoughts:

4mm high-density neoprene resists compression so buoyancy variations are reduced at depth. Latex wrist and neck seals are thin yet durable and provide comfortable, watertight seals. So this suit is just like a neoprene wet suit, without ever getting wet. So YES! Bouyancy variations don’t vary much than expected for a neoprene suit. The latex is not exactly comfortable, but haven’t found a latex seal that is. They are perfect for adding dry globes

Shoulder and knee panels cover a lot of area for maximum anti-abrasion protection. I have dove this in the tough conditions of lobster diving in the Channel Islands and frankly even worse, a rescue course being “rescued” over rocks… it has withstand very well

Attached semi-rigid dive boots feature new soft yet protective soles that improve their anti-slip capabilities while enabling you to comfortably walk on objects like shells. Boots also include Velcro straps to improve fit while preventing air from traveling to feet, along with fin strap retainers. Yep! All great! The boots are great! The velcro is helpful and fin strap retainers go great with my seawing nova’s

Heavy-duty rear shoulder-to-shoulder BDM metal drysuit zipper is covered by a neoprene overflap for added protection. The zipper has been solid, no issues

Si-Tech balanced side-activated inlet and adjustable outlet valves allow for pinpoint buoyancy control, increasing stability and control at depth. Well to be honest, the valve on my arm leaks when left open, so I do need to adjust to open to release air

I-Safe straps on both arms offer secure mounting spots for wrist instruments. Genius option as with all Scubapro Suits

Blue suspender system is easy to see, enhances fit and provides convenient lower suit support between dives. And it’s stylish!

Handy right-thigh utility pocket with D-ring, bungee and zippered closure provides a secure spot for carrying accessories. A hook is provided on the cargo pocket for attaching a hood. This is perfect for collecting plastic trash or shark teeth

My overall opinion of this suit is GREAT! 5-stars. For anyone considering diving dry, this is an easy transition from a wet suit. The air bubble is easier to control than I have experienced with other suits. It has more warmth, even without an undergarment. Worth the investment! Happy Bubbles! Cassandra
