Cassandra’s First Open Water Dive

Well it wasn’t the worst idea to travel to paradise to dive. In fact it came full circle. Her best friends on the island of Maui, Kathi and Shad, both avid divers, were happy to welcome them to the island. Shad had been the first to have the honors of holding Cassandra’s scared hand underwater in 2014 when she tried an intro to diving course. He was kind, careful and talented instructor, but she left that experience thinking it just wasn’t her thing. But here she was again. Maui. Ready to become certified. Her first dive was a shore dive at Mala Pier. The turtle cleaning station. And the turtles did not disappoint. And little did she know that this would become her more favorite dive on the island of Maui.
